I paint from my memories of watching the Aurora Borealis when I lived in the high arctic. This painting is being raffled off as a fundraiser for the Grove Art Gallery. I will be at the Grove Gallery next Saturday July 13th doing a demonstration of painting the Northern Lights using watercolour paint. This is a very abstract process that creates a realistic image of the "Glow of the Aurora Borealis" Every one is welcome to this FREE family event.  I am very honored to have my painting, The Impending Storm 03/24, shown at the The Alberni Valley Museum and Art Rave Society of Alberni 3rd Biennial Juried Art Show - 2024, "All That Moves Us". I did this watercolour painting on a canvas. I like the way the tree branches wrap around the edges of the frame. It kind of gives the painting a 3D look.
